Preview Material and Texture

Preview texture rendered inside the TA editor window can be used in the real time by any material. Select material in the Preview Material field and using menu choose one of its shader’s texture property names.

Any changes made inside the TA editor window will be instantly visible by the Preview Material.

To restore the original texture used by the material, deselect it from the Preview Material field.

Preview Texture field expects RenderTexture type asset and it is updated by the TA editor simultaneously with its adjusted texture.

If there is a delay in updating preview material and preview texture, make sure the Animated Materials checkbox is enabled for the Scene view:
